Turquoise Grass Medal

Price range: 2.350,00€ through 8.045,00€

Manual engraving medallion with pearls and turquoise yellow gold. They are very ornate medallions, made of fine gold leaf, with floral applications and festoons in gold of various shades, as well as small turquoise and imitation pearls. Generally, these pieces are of considerable size and were initially worn in conjunction with grass necklaces, with stones of the same color as those decorating the center of the necklace. Nowadays, they can be hung from any chain strong enough to support their weight. Gramalheira’s medallions are an example of showy and extravagant goldsmithing, which contributed to their popularity, especially in ethnographic parades. Originally, they were considered bourgeois jewelry, but their use spread to local populations throughout the North of Portugal.

Manual engraving medal with pearls and turquoises, 19.2Kt yellow gold, weighing approximately 8g.

When placed on your finger, the ring should be comfortable so that it does not fall off, but loose enough to slide off when you want to take it off.

The size of your finger varies depending on the time of day and the weather. To obtain the best results, measure your finger:

— At the end of the day or when your finger is warm (fingers are thinner early in the morning or when the weather is cold);

— Measure your finger size 3 to 4 times to avoid possible reading errors.

To obtain more accurate measurements, you should avoid using string or paper to measure your finger size, as these materials can stretch or twist, distorting the actual measurement. If you are ordering from abroad, you can determine your ring size according to your country, using the table above, matching the Portuguese size with the international size.
