100 YEARS

Tavares is 100 years old, so this is a time to celebrate. We are celebrating not only this round date, but also Tavares’ history and heritage. A history made up of family, proximity and people. In this campaign, the spirit of this century-old company was portrayed in a genuine and informal way. It was around the table, after a lunch full of laughter and conversation, as Portuguese family lunches are.

The disorderly joy of everyday life makes this campaign the perfect reflection of what these 100 years represent for us. Not 100 years of formality, but a century of closeness to our customers, sharing with them the most varied moments of their lives. At Tavares we believe that jewelry should be part of every moment of everyday life, even the most relaxed ones, which are almost always the happiest.

Historia

History of Tavares

In 1922, Virgílio Aristides Tavares opened the doors of Ourivesaria Tavares in Póvoa de Varzim for the first time. Many women entered at number 54 Rua da Junqueira, with their husbands at sea, they placed all their hope and faith in gold, and in it they had a guarantee of their livelihood in uncertain times.

Jewelry has never been just jewelry, it has always represented something greater and deeper. We buy jewels to mark achievements, eternalize passions and immortalize memories. From day one, Tavares has known that, more than making jewelry, its mission is to eternalize moments.

This respect for jewelry has been passed down from generation to generation, with pillars so well founded that the address has never changed. The history of Tavares is written to the sound of the wind and waves of Póvoa de Varzim, maintaining the pulse of tradition over the years.

100 years is synonymous with heritage, but also with innovation. No brand lasts a century if it can’t reinvent itself. With this centenary, Tavares begins to write another chapter. A chapter that belongs to this time, despite having deep roots.

Jewelry is part of everyday life for more and more people, without generational barriers and without the rigid protocols of yesteryear. There is no more exciting time to mark victories and achievements with precious stones than today. Our history can only be written with those of our clients. It was like that in 1922 and it is like that now.

When placed on your finger, the ring should be comfortable so that it does not fall off, but loose enough to slide off when you want to take it off.

The size of your finger varies depending on the time of day and the weather. To obtain the best results, measure your finger:

— At the end of the day or when your finger is warm (fingers are thinner early in the morning or when the weather is cold);

— Measure your finger size 3 to 4 times to avoid possible reading errors.

To obtain more accurate measurements, you should avoid using string or paper to measure your finger size, as these materials can stretch or twist, distorting the actual measurement. If you are ordering from abroad, you can determine your ring size according to your country, using the table above, matching the Portuguese size with the international size.
